Mitutoyo is a DMG MORI Qualified Products (DMQP) partner

Mitutoyo has been included in the DMG MORI Qualified Products (DMQP) program, aiming to provide customers with a combination of high-end precision machining and advanced inline precision measuring equipment. Dr. Masahiko Mori, President and CEO of DMG MORI, and Shigeyuki Sasaki, Acting President of Mitutoyo Corporation, signed the partnership during the DMG MORI Open House held in Pfronten, Germany.

The DMG MORI Qualified Products portfolio is continually growing and now includes a wide range of machine components, peripherals, and accessories, including tools, clamping devices, software, measurement technology, and cooling lubricants. This range is increasingly complemented by digital solutions that specialize machines and machining processes or make them more efficient. To meet the growing need for technological diversification and innovation, DMG MORI is continually expanding its portfolio. At the Open House in Pfronten, held in early February, four new partner companies were presented whose technologies significantly contribute to efficient production: in the case of Mitutoyo, the reliable integration of precision measurement into the machining process.

During the DMG MORI Open House in Pfronten, Germany, a ten-day event that welcomed more than 6,700 visitors, Dr. Eng. Masahiko Mori, President and CEO of DMG MORI, and Shigeyuki Sasaki, Acting President of Mitutoyo Corporation, officially launched Mitutoyo's entry into the DMQP partnership, marking a new milestone in the cooperation between the two companies.

This cooperation has intensified in recent years. John Kooning, Managing Director of DMG MORI NL, who spearheaded Mitutoyo's integration into the DMQP program, stated: " Mitutoyo has been actively participating in our Open Houses for many years, demonstrating the perfect compatibility and added value of its products with our machines. In Europe, we have also extended this collaboration to the important EMO trade fair in 2023 and 2025. "

Mitutoyo's DMQP status should be viewed in the context of the DMG MORI Machining Transformation (MX) strategy, which represents a true revolution in the manufacturing industry. A key component of MX is technology integration, combining different processes such as turning, milling, grinding, and even measurement functions in a single machine tool to achieve greater productivity. This integration reduces the number of operators required, frees them from having to perform multiple setups, and helps create a rewarding work environment within a company. More time can be dedicated to high-value activities, making work more rewarding for employees.

Integrated measurement is the key here for Mitutoyo. Pralhad Thapa, Business Solution Manager: "DMG MORI chose our compact MiSTAR 555 coordinate measuring machine, which can be physically installed in the production line, in close proximity to the machine tool. Movement between machines can be performed by a robot. From a software perspective, a seamless connection is created using DMG MORI's Tulip software."

The result: the customer can combine precision machining—milling, turning, integrated grinding, etc.—with high-precision measurements, without the need to transport parts to a dedicated measuring room or laboratory. Indeed, stable dimensions can be guaranteed even when maximum precision is required, and any deviations will be detected so quickly that the user can react before tolerances are exceeded. Scrap will be reduced and productivity will be improved.

The MiSTAR 555 is the perfect coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for this purpose, as it is designed for factory applications of almost any size and shape. For example, it can operate at temperatures ranging from 10°C to 40°C. Even in harsh environments, it offers exceptional speed and precision, effectively creating the basis for high utilization of a single machining center, rather than the partial utilization of several simple machines. This is a clear goal of the DMG MORI MX Machining Transformation strategy, as an efficient path to the "Factory of the Future." Mitutoyo is proud to be part of this strategy.

In addition to the inline CNC CMM, the DMQP offering will include other Mitutoyo precision instruments and machines. These offerings also include packages for schools and universities: the two companies have long collaborated in this field, promoting the dissemination of specialized skills in the workshop environment. And there are other similarities. Henk Slotboom, Marketing Director of Mitutoyo Europe: "Social commitment is very important to both DMG MORI and Mitutoyo, and both companies have set very high quality standards in their respective markets."

DMG MORI is a leading global manufacturer of high-precision machine tools and is represented in 44 countries with 124 sales and service locations, including 17 production facilities. As a "Global One Company," over 13,500 employees drive the development of holistic solutions for the manufacturing industry. A compact space marvel that offers maximum visibility

Linde Material Handling (MH) launches the new Linde-Xi-Roadster electric forklift truck on the Italian market. The absence of a front mast and dedicated design solutions offer operators a wider, clearer view, with direct benefits in terms of safety and efficiency. Linde Material Handling, a forklift manufacturer part of the KION Group, presents the new Linde-Xi-Roadster, developed as part of the new generation of electric counterbalanced forklifts. The range is now expanded with seven new models, three- and four-wheeled, with load capacities up to 2 tons, designed to ensure significantly higher levels of visibility than traditional standards. The heart of the Roadster project is a pillar-less overhead guard, a solution that allows operators an unobstructed view of the front, sides, and top of the truck. This is complemented by additional design elements designed to improve overall visibility, with direct benefits in terms of safety, operational precision, and efficiency during driving and lifting operations. As Samuele Albertini , Head of Sales and Marketing Support at Linde MH Italia, summarizes, the principle is simple: visibility means safety and safety means productivity. “ When the operator has full visual control of the route, the surrounding environment, and the load, they can work more focused, precise, and efficient. People and obstacles are identified earlier, and maneuvers are faster and safer, with a direct impact on productivity in the warehouse and production areas ,” explains Albertini. Visibility, safety and ergonomics as design factors The new Linde-Xi-Roadster is designed for applications where visibility and ergonomics are crucial. It is particularly suitable for the precise handling and positioning of bulky loads, for racking operations, and for loading and unloading vehicles, where accuracy and control are essential. The most noticeable improvement comes from the elimination of the front masts, which traditionally limit visibility to the sides of the lift mast. The lowered front panel further improves visibility to the fork tips, while the slimmer rear masts make reversing easier. To ensure an unobstructed view upwards during stacking and retrieval operations, all roof pillars and cross members have been designed with minimal cross-sections. As an option, the Roadster can be equipped with a panoramic roof made of reinforced glass, which complies with safety regulations and has undergone stringent internal testing to ensure reliable protection against falling objects. Advanced ergonomics and intuitive control A further distinctive feature of the new Roadster is Linde Steer Control , which replaces the traditional steering wheel with a mini-steering wheel or joystick integrated into the left-hand armrest. “ These solutions further improve ergonomics and visibility and integrate perfectly with the Roadster concept, offering a more natural and less tiring driving experience, especially during long shifts ,” underlines Albertini. A shared technology platform The Linde Xi14 - Xi20 R (three-wheel) and Linde Xi16 - Xi20 R (four-wheel) models are based on the new Xi platform with integrated lithium-ion batteries. Despite their compact dimensions, they offer a spacious and comfortable working environment, with generous legroom and headroom and a wide step for easy entry and exit. Both the standard Linde Xi and Roadster versions are equipped with high-performance yet economical synchronous reluctance motors, ensuring maximum performance and a high residual load capacity. The same applies to all available equipment options, such as seat and mast variants, ensuring maximum customization. Finally, the new series offers many other advantages, such as a vibration isolation system on the drive axle, steering axle and lift mast. Operational efficiency and sustainability over time The entire design of the new Xi-Roadster series is focused on reducing operating costs and sustainability. Key components such as the motors and battery are maintenance-free, while vehicle accessibility has been designed to simplify service operations. One example is the extension of the hydraulic oil and filter change interval to 6,000 operating hours , a value that sets a new benchmark in the industry. This reduces oil consumption, limits waste, and minimizes downtime throughout the entire life cycle of the truck. About LINDE MH Linde Material Handling develops high-performance goods handling solutions customized to meet individual customer needs. Linde MH, in addition to being one of the world's leading manufacturers of forklifts and manual and automated warehouse equipment, offers a wide range of fleet management solutions, driver assistance systems, mobile robots and a wide variety of software solutions, consulting services and technical support. The Linde MH brand represents maximum performance, achieved through technological innovation, superior standards of ergonomics and operator safety and a wide range of energy options.
