Industry 4.0: Technology and Innovation in Sheet Metal Working

Digitalization has redefined the way of doing business in every production sector, introducing new standards of efficiency and quality. Even in the sheet metal working and precision metalworking sectors, the impact of Industry 4.0 has been decisive, transforming processes and paving the way for increasingly connected, automated, and intelligent production.

What is Industry 4.0 and why does it represent a turning point for the sector

The term Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution, characterized by the integration of digital technologies, automation, and data intelligence. It's not simply a matter of introducing new machinery, but of creating an interconnected production system, in which each phase of the process communicates with the others. This approach allows you to:

Optimize production times and costs

Increase the precision and traceability of processes

Reduce waste and improve energy efficiency

Improving the working conditions of operators

For companies like ROS Srl, adopting the principles of Industry 4.0 represents a strategic choice, capable of guaranteeing high quality standards and greater competitiveness on national and international markets.

ROS Srl: concrete innovation in sheet metal working

Founded on values of technical expertise, reliability, and precision, ROS Srl has evolved over time by integrating cutting-edge technological solutions into its production departments. Thanks to a significant digitalization process, the company has obtained Industry 4.0 certification, confirming its ability to innovate without losing sight of the artisanal quality that distinguishes it.

The innovations introduced include:

Tablets integrated into machine tools, which allow operators to communicate in real time with the management system, annotating information and optimizing process monitoring.

Automatic vertical warehouses, for intelligent inventory management and a complete view of production progress.

Interconnection systems between the technical office and production, which guarantee continuity between design and implementation, reducing response times and margins of error.

These tools allow ROS Srl to manage the entire production cycle with maximum efficiency: from technical design to processing, up to quality control and delivery of the finished product.

From technology to consultancy: the added value of ROS Srl

ROS Srl's Industry 4.0 approach is not limited to the automation of operational phases. The company has integrated latest-generation CAM software into its management system, allowing for a rapid transition from design to production with an extremely high level of precision.

This allows the technical team to offer a complete design consultancy service, supporting the customer in choosing materials, defining geometries, and planning the most efficient machining processes.

Thanks to the connection between human expertise and digital technology, ROS Srl guarantees constant control over every detail of the process, with results that translate into:

Higher quality of finished products

Reduced delivery times

Production flexibility for small and large series

Better traceability and monitoring of processes

A new era for industry

Industry 4.0 is no longer an abstract concept, but a reality that unites digital and production in a connected ecosystem. Deep technological integration improves the interaction between machines and operators, optimizes time and consumption, and paves the way for an increasingly efficient and sustainable industrial future.

Automotive market pressure leads to closure: fischer werkzeugbau production facility enters the inte

Düsseldorf / Bavaria, February 2026 – Ongoing uncertainty in the automotive industry continues to put pressure on specialised suppliers. Against this backdrop, Bavarian tool and mould manufacturer Fischer Werkzeugbau GmbH, specialised in the development and production of injection moulding and die-casting tools, has decided to cease its business operations.Founded in 1985, Fischer Werkzeugbau developed into a respected, family-owned specialist in the development and manufacture of injection moulding and die-casting tools, serving customers from its own production facility in Bavaria. The closure is voluntary and not related to insolvency proceedings. “The decision to close the company was not an easy one,” Johann Fischer, the owner of Fischer Werkzeugbau explains. “However, growing uncertainty in the automotive environment and increasingly challenging market conditions led me to act at an early stage and on my own terms. This allows me to take responsibility; for the company, for our employees and for the quality of the work we have built up over the years.”The company’s ten employees were informed of the decision at the end of last year. Fischer Werkzeugbau is an independent company and has no affiliation with the Fischer Group or any other similarly named corporate groups.Complete production facility offered to the international manufacturing marketAs part of the closure, the entire production facility will now be auctioned via the international online auction platform Troostwijk Auctions. The online auction is already open and closes on 26 February 2026. The total estimated value of the assets on offer is approximately €1 million. The auction includes, among others:injection moulding and die-casting toolslaser welding equipmentdeep-hole drilling technologyelectrodes and other specialised manufacturing assetsThe machinery and tooling reflect the high technical standards and specialisation Fischer Werkzeugbau has built up over many years. As such, the auction targets not only domestic buyers, but also international manufacturing companies seeking to expand or modernise their production capabilities. The sale of a complete, high-quality production setup also highlights the structural challenges currently affecting parts of the German supplier industry. Through the auction, the assets are given the opportunity to continue their lifecycle in new industrial applications.

Norelem news: toggle clamps with safety lock and flexible clamping devices

Norelem is expanding its range of clamping elements with safety locking toggle clamps and additional versions of pull-type clamps and toggle clamps for industrial applications. The goal is to offer users an even wider selection for fast, safe, and repeatable clamping, even in limited installation spaces and under complex loads. New clamping tools, pull-type clamps, and quick-action clamps ensure greater process safety and stability in production and assembly: an integrated locking mechanism reduces the risk of accidental opening, while reliable clamping forces reduce downtime and rework. At the same time, tool-free clamping reduces setup times and cycle times. Variants for tight installation spaces, various mounting positions, and steel and stainless steel versions offer additional flexibility for a wide variety of applications. Closing tools: faster closing, secure hold Locking tools are proven assembly and locking devices for quickly closing and securing lids, hatches, and covers. In this area, norelem is introducing three new product families and a total of 15 new items. They are available in steel and stainless steel and cover tensile forces from 1,630 N to 34,000 N. New: Standard locking tools with safety lock The standard locking tools from norelem are now also available with safety lock: 05825-11 (horizontal) 05830-02 (vertical) When closed, a locking catch engages securely with the base body. This prevents the device from opening accidentally, for example due to vibrations or impacts. To open, the catch can be conveniently unlocked with one hand. Another new feature: heavy-duty locking tools For particularly high loads, norelem offers heavy-duty toggle clamps with a tensile force of up to 34,000 N. This variant is intended for applications where robust locking technology is required, such as heavy doors and fixtures or in welding and production environments. New space-saving side-mounted tension clamps For applications with limited installation space, the new side-mounted tension clamps are available: Material: steel and stainless steel Holding force: up to 3,400 N The pull-type clamping device is particularly suitable when fastening is not required from the front, but from the side on a support plate, for example in the case of narrow profiles, compact devices or small machine rooms. New quick-clamping devices: fast, precise, flexible Quick-action clamping devices are used when quick changes of workpieces or assemblies are required and a precisely repeatable clamping position is required. norelem completes its range with two new horizontal variants: Horizontal quick clamping device with angle foot Material: steel Holding force: 1,670 N Clamping force: 1,020 N Special features: Angled foot for horizontal and vertical mounting Horizontal quick clamping device with full holding arm Material: steel Holding force: 4,500 N Clamping force: 2,760 N Special feature: Full holding arm for individual modifications and adjustments Brief profile of norelem Normelemente GmbH & Co.
